Smart Highway Toll Plaza Surveillance & Automated FASTag Systems

Project Overview

NHAI invites bids for Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and 5-Year Comprehensive Maintenance of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Camera Systems, Electronic Toll Collection equipment, and OFC connectivity across 18 toll plazas on the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway.

Technical Requirements

• High-resolution ANPR cameras with ≥98% accuracy under all lighting conditions
• Lane Control Systems (LCS) with LED signage and barrier gates
• Redundant OFC network with MPLS-based backhaul
• Centralised Video Management System (VMS) with 90-day storage
• FASTag-compliant multi-lane free-flow (MLFF) provisions

Eligibility

• Net Worth ≥ ₹25 Cr as of last audited balance sheet
• Prior experience in highway tolling projects (minimum 2 projects, ≥₹20 Cr each)
• OEM authorisation letters for ANPR and barrier gate equipment
• EMD: ₹2,50,000 in the form of bank guarantee

Financial Parameters

• Estimated project cost: ₹12.5 Crore
• Contract duration: 6 months (installation) + 5 years (AMC)
• Payment terms: milestone-based, 90% on completion + 10% retention
